Sal, Bramble & nb Halfpenny
One boat, one stove, one very serious dog.
Sal started making fudge aboard because a narrowboat galley has exactly one metre of worktop and fudge asks for exactly one metre. That was 2019, selling from the roof at Bradford on Avon. Bramble came aboard in 2021 and the dog treats followed — she taste-tests every batch with the gravity of a trading standards officer.
The wharf shop opened in 2026: a green door on the canal side, the same stove aboard, the same rule — small batches, real ingredients, nothing sold that Sal wouldn't eat (Bramble holds the dog side of that bargain to the letter).
The boat still moves. Fudge Thursdays, dog treats Fridays, markets most weekends between Bath and Devizes — if the shop counter's got the sign up, the boat's close enough to smell the sugar.
